WATERFORD 2011
Neidin sailing in celubrious company alongside the 2011 Tall Ships fleet. We enjoyed four glorious days of sunshine and wonderful sailing in the company of these iconic maritime treasures, and we rotated our crew each day in order to ensure that everybody got to experience the event.
Waterford never looked so good! For four days its quays were packed with some of the most beautiful maritime treasures in the world. Hotels and guest-houses were filled to capacity, and vast crowds filled its streets. Neidin's crew rotated each of the four days, sailing between Dunmore East and Waterford daily. We accommodated a total of 24 crew and guests over the course of the event, and sailed many miles in perfect conditions. 31st June to 3rd July 2011. Photo FOC.

Neil McGrory on helm as "Neidin" passes alongside the "Christian Raddich", the fabulous Norwegian Tall Ship training vessel. Also aboard were Ferghal, Ken, and Fia. The waters around Dunmore East were reminisent of Dunkirk on the final day of the Race with every type of small craft crowding the harbour and jostling for position as the ships passed. Photo FOC.
Our crew for Day 3 of the Tall Ships Race comprised of Peter O Keane, Ken O Farrell, Joe McCarthy, Paul Halley, and Fia O Caoimh. We rafted overnight in Dunmore East Harbour, and there was a lot of noisy guitar playing late into the night. We towed our keg of Heineken to keep it well cooled, and entertained the crews of several adjoining boats too. A great night, and a great sailing occasion. 2nd July 2011. Photo FOC.

She was originally built as a fishing trawler, but now operates as a training vessel. The Wylde Swan is the largest topsail schooner in the world, and she sets a blistering pace. Photo. FOC.
