Dun Laoghaire's iconic East Pier Lighthouse as seen from aboard s/y "Neidin". It was was designed by the celebrated engineer George Halpin, with some later alterations by Jacob Owen. The cost of the granite tower was £937. The 12,000 candle power light was first lit on 1st October 1847. The tower was later heightened by 12 feet, thus casting a beam on the Mugglin rocks off Dalkey for the first time. It was fully automated on 31 October 1977. Photo FOC.

Sailing with Sacha Baron Cohen on Friday 16th August 2019. Ali G is on the helm with Amanda, Anette, Derek, and Fia aboard. 20 to 30 knots initially as we routed southwards through Dalkey Sound. It calmed down as we headed back to Poolbeg Lighthouse, and finally home to Dun Laoghaire. A lovely evening out on the water.

Dinner in the Bag! Carina shows off the spoils of one Ken's fishing expiditions. As the boat tacks it slows down, and Ken can ofton pull 2 or 3 mackerel aboard!

Zoran on helm, Fia on winches, and Peter on point, as we race into Dun Laoghaire Harbour under full sail. It's New Year's Eve, and we are sailing in the company of Derek Coffey's "Bendemeer". The wind Gods obliged and built up to 30+ knots for a super finish. See video of this passage. 31st Dec 2018
